What we can measure on site

Choose an area. We measure these values in-house, the result is usually available within a few minutes & we discuss it during the same appointment.

Inflammation & infection

CRP
An acute-phase protein from the liver. Rises with inflammation within hours.
Procalcitonin
A precursor of the hormone calcitonin. Rises above all with bacterial infections.
Interleukin-6
A messenger of the immune system. Triggers CRP production in the liver.
Influenza A & B
Antigen rapid test from a swab. Detects components of the virus directly.
Covid-19
Antigen rapid test from a swab. On request together with influenza.

Heart & circulation

Troponin I
A protein of the heart muscle. Enters the blood when heart muscle cells are damaged.
NT-proBNP
A peptide from the heart chambers. Released when wall tension increases.
D-dimer
A cleavage product from the breakdown of clotted blood. Indicates clotting activity.
Myoglobin
The oxygen store of the muscle cell. Enters the blood when muscle is damaged.

Metabolism & hormones

TSH
The control hormone of the pituitary gland. Regulates the thyroid.
HbA1c
The sugar-bound share of the red blood pigment. Reflects blood sugar over recent weeks.
Cortisol
The hormone of the adrenal cortex. Controls the stress response & daily rhythm.

Further values

Ferritin
The storage protein for iron. Shows iron reserves.
PSA
A protein produced in the prostate. Enters the blood in small amounts.
CEA, AFP & beta-hCG
Proteins of particular tissues. Used as tumour markers.
